With the rise of affordable software and musicians winning Grammys with songs recorded on laptops, now is an incredible time to learn the art of audio production. At Rob’s School of Music in Suffern, NY, our team of teachers have years of experience on both sides of the glass.
Students will learn everything from digital recording and song composition, how to mic a band, editing, plugin application and mixing. Our more advanced students will also delve into electronic music production and live sound.
Our recording studio is fully equipped with Logic, Pro Tools, vintage tube and ribbon microphones, MPC machines and full plugin suites from Waves, Native Instruments, and Universal Audio.

Awesome Events and Recitals
Our events are EPIC! All students are invited to perform in many local pop-up performances. We also do annual recitals unlike any music school around. We make these events fun and entertaining for the students and the entire family with professional lighting and sound, concessions, and recordings. Our Rock Band students perform at REAL venues every 6-8 weeks.
Customized Learning System
Nothing about Rob’s School of Music is cookie-cutter. Every student receives a completely customized curriculum, so they are taught how THEY learn. Once enrolled, every student receives a questionnaire so we can learn about their musical goals and “why” they want to learn how to play music.
It’s More Than Music
As a music school, our first goal is to teach our students how to play music, but at Robs School Of Music, it goes much deeper than that. In a perfect world, 20 years from now, all of our students would still be rocking, but even if they’re not, they will still possess the self-discipline and confidence instilled in every lesson.
Learn from True Musical Practitioners
A good teacher changes everything. Every music coach at Robs School Of Music is an active touring and recording professional musician. But it doesn’t stop there. We are a team of educators who put all of our student's needs front and center in every lesson. Our team is trained to adapt their teaching style on the fly to ensure we connect with our students every minute they’re with us.
We recommend students start no younger than 10 years old, but there are always exceptions. Schedule a free consultation to see what is best for you.
We recommend all audio production students have their own computer. It doesn't matter if it's a PC, MAC, or even iPad.
We make learning audio production fun. Each lesson includes exercises to practice over the course of the week with specific goals that gamify the experience.
All of our programs are custom-tailored to the student's goals and learning style. As a primer, every audio production student will learn a combination of workflow, how to use plugins, how to set up their system, songwriting exercises, signal flow, and music more.
