Group Guitar Lessons in Suffern, NY

Rob's School of Music
"We have been with Rob’s School of Music since the doors opened. My son began taking guitar lessons, he wanted to be a rock star like his teacher. After about a year Rob, my son and I realized that his inner rock star was more of an acoustic song writer! We began piano lessons and have not stopped since that day. My son has learned more than just notes and songs. He sees the music. He feels the music. [...] Being a part of Rob’s School of Music truly makes you part of a family. A family of teachers, students and an owner that share their love for music with each of their students! "

THE RSM EXPERIENCE

MUSIC LESSONS ARE JUST THE BEGINNING.

Learning an instrument shouldn't only happen inside a lesson room. At Rob's School of Music, students have opportunities to take what they're learning and actually do something with it.

LEARN

RECORD
RELEASE

Learn your instrument. Play the music you love. Join a real band. Perform on real stages. Write original music. Record in professional studios. Release your music into the world.

The goal isn't simply to complete another lesson. The goal is to become a musician.

WHY RSM IS DIFFERENT

BUILT BY A WORKING MUSICIAN.

Rob's School of Music was founded by professional musician, educator and content creator Rob Spampinato. For more than 25 years, Rob has built his life around music.

He has toured and performed across the country, recorded professionally, worked with major music brands, been a PRS Guitars endorsed artist since 2007, authored an Amazon #1 bestselling guitar book and built an online community of more than 180,000 YouTube subscribers.

Through the Rob's School of Music platform and podcast, Rob has also interviewed some of the world's most respected musicians about the craft, career and life of making music.

Those accomplishments aren't separate from RSM.
THEY'RE WHY IT EXISTS.

Rob built RSM to give students something traditional music education too often misses: the experience of actually becoming a musician. Everything we do, from private lessons to bands, songwriting, recording and live performances, comes from that philosophy.

MEET ROB
MORE THAN AN AFTER-SCHOOL ACTIVITY

YOUR CHILD DOESN'T NEED ANOTHER ACTIVITY.

THEY NEED SOMETHING THEY CAN CALL THEIRS.

For some students, music becomes a career. For others, it becomes the thing they love doing after school. For others, it's where they find confidence, creativity, friends and a place to belong.

We take the music seriously, but we take the student even more seriously. Every student's goals, personality, learning style and musical interests are different. Their lessons should be too.

NO COOKIE-CUTTER CURRICULUM.
NO ONE-SIZE-FITS-ALL METHOD.
NO FORCING EVERY STUDENT DOWN THE SAME PATH.

We meet students where they are and help them keep moving forward.

OUR TWO RULES
1 HAVE FUN.
2 KEEP MOVING FORWARD.
THE RSM FACULTY

TAUGHT BY MUSICIANS.

NOT JUST MUSIC TEACHERS.

A great teacher can completely change someone's relationship with music. That's why the RSM faculty is made up of musicians who don't simply understand an instrument. They live music.

Our instructors perform, record, write, create and continue developing their own craft. They're also educators who understand that knowing how to play something and knowing how to teach someone else to play it are two very different skills.

Connect with the student.
Find what inspires them.
Teach them how they learn.
Keep music fun.
Move them forward.

How does Rob's School of Music keep students engaged and loving their lessons every week?

Awesome Events and Recitals

Awesome Events and Recitals
Our events are EPIC! All students are invited to perform in many local pop-up performances. We also do annual recitals unlike any music school around. We make these events fun and entertaining for the students and the entire family with professional lighting and sound, concessions, and recordings. Our Rock Band students perform at REAL venues every 6-8 weeks.
Customized Learning System

Customized Learning System
Nothing about Rob’s School of Music is cookie-cutter. Every student receives a completely customized curriculum, so they are taught how THEY learn. Once enrolled, every student receives a questionnaire so we can learn about their musical goals and “why” they want to learn how to play music.
It’s More Than Music

It’s More Than Music
As a music school, our first goal is to teach our students how to play music, but at Robs School Of Music, it goes much deeper than that. In a perfect world, 20 years from now, all of our students would still be rocking, but even if they’re not, they will still possess the self-discipline and confidence instilled in every lesson.
Learn from True Musical Practitioners

Learn from True Musical Practitioners
A good teacher changes everything. Every music coach at Robs School Of Music is an active touring and recording professional musician. But it doesn’t stop there. We are a team of educators who put all of our student's needs front and center in every lesson. Our team is trained to adapt their teaching style on the fly to ensure we connect with our students every minute they’re with us.
We recommend DJ lesson students start no younger than 8 years old, but there are always exceptions. Schedule a free consultation to see what is best for you.
We recommend that any student learning how to DJ has their own gear, but it is not necessary in the beginning. We sell basic beginner DJ rigs at the school.
We make learning how to DJ fun. Each lesson includes exercises to practice over the course of the week with specific goals that gamify the experience.
All of our programs are custom-tailored to the student's goals and learning style. As a primer, every DJ student will learn a combination of beat matching, how to use Rekord Box software, how to apply FX, how to pick a set, setting up and breaking down their DJ equipment and much more.
